Eileen Poolman Lamont Memorial Scholarship
Eileen was a multi-faceted, yet simple person to understand. She was the product of a traditional Catholic upbringing and lived her faith every day. Her life, and how she lived it, is testament to that. Eileen had the courage of a lion while retaining the gentleness of a lamb. She had an inner toughness and determination to succeed, while retaining her humanity and dignity. Eileen was passionate about that which she believed, always in a cooperative and compassionate way. Eileen had been characterized as a person who comes along once in a lifetime. To have known her, would have confirmed this. She was many things to many people, but all agree on one thing; she was a gift from God, called home much too soon. She is sorely missed by all whom she touched.
Eileen was born and raised in St. Joseph. She was a graduate of St. Patrick’s School, Bishop LeBlond High School, and Missouri Western State College. After graduating from M.W.S.C. with a degree in Elementary Education, Eileen became a teacher in St. Joseph. She taught several years before moving to New York and making a career change. Eileen became a computer programmer and worked for the Wall Street firm of E. F. Hutton. She rose to the position of Asst. Vice President in the Programming Department. After spending fifteen years in New York, Eileen moved back to the Midwest to be closer to her family and friends. She worked for G. E. in Kansas City where she was a Vice President in the Information Technology Dept.
Eileen was a devoted Mother of two and a loving wife. Her hobbies included collecting early 20th Century antiques and handmade quilts from the Depression Era. She spent countless hours antiquing, looking for those special pieces that would look just right in her home. Eileen was a coach and volunteer with the Special Olympics. Special Olympics and Special Olympians had a special place in her heart.

Robertson Family Foundation Scholarship
The Robertson Family Foundation was founded in memory of James “Leo” Robertson, in 1968, by four of his sons who worked for their family’s business. The Robertson family has worked hard and made sacrifices to humbly help many people of Northwest Missouri since its inception. The focus of the foundation is to provide funds to not-for-profit organizations, whose mission is educational or charitable in nature.
This scholarship will assist with the financial burden for students who are good citizens, have a history of, and are currently active in their community.
Brother Norbert Roseberry Memorial Scholarship
The life of Brother Norbert Roseberry is a story of a selfless Christian Brother who knew the meaning of the word commitment; who loved the religious life to which God had called him at the age of 16; who did not use the school or the classroom for self-fulfillment, personal aggrandizement or self-centered satisfaction.

Schaag Family Memorial Scholarship
In the early morning hours of Christmas Eve 1971,there was a tragic house fire in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Robert (Bob) M. Schaag (CB '59), his wife Nancy (Stuber), their three children: Deborah, Michael, and Jennifer, and Nancy's parents: Leo and Ruth Stuber, visiting from St Joseph, all perished. To honor their memory, The Robert M. Schaag Family Memorial Scholarship Fund was established at Bishop LeBlond High School. Quaker Oats, where Bob was a district manager in Chicago, made a generous donation, and in lieu of flowers, many, many friends and family supported this memory of Bob and his family.
Beginning with the 1972-1973 school year, scholarships were awarded to entering freshmen. In addition, for the first 23 years, funds were also given to the athletic program. With the deaths of brother Frank L. Schaag (CB'56) in 2003, parents Frank M. and Irene J. Schaag in 2004, and brother Dennis J. Schaag (CB'67) in 2005, the fund was renamed the Schaag Family Memorial Scholarship Fund to reflect all the contributions that were made in their memories.
The 2021-2022 school year marked the 50th consecutive year for these scholarships, and brought the total recipients to 218. The name, amounts, and number of recipients per year have changed over the years, but the desire to help deserving entering freshmen to Bishop LeBlond, has always stayed the same.
